Infosys BPO wins awards at the Indian Statistical Institute’s Six-Sigma Case Study Competition

Infosys BPO’s lean, Six Sigma process improvement teams won the first prize at the Six Sigma Case Study Competition conducted by the Indian Statistical Institution (ISI) on February 12 – 13, 2016.

Infosys BPO submitted two entries that competed against 56 entries from several other companies. We won the first prize for a project on ‘reduction of cycle time for background verification process,’ which provided predictable, on-time, onboarding and substantial cost benefits by optimizing the employee allocation process to client accounts.

Infosys BPO's HRD team also presented a lean management case study on ‘reduction of recruitment cycle time for walk-in interviews of freshers’, which received the ‘Best Excellence Case Study’ certificate. This project helped to reduce the recruitment time of walk-in freshers by more than 50%.

About the Awards

The Indian Statistical Institute is devoted to research, teaching, applied statistics, natural sciences, and social sciences. The institute, supported by other reputed national bodies, has been organizing the Six Sigma Case Study Competition annually since 2002. This year the competition was held in three streams: DMAIC, DFSS, and LEAN.
