Asheesh Mehra, a G6 panelist at the 2012 Australasian SSON Week, notes that as Australasian companies prepare to globalize
by expanding into Asian markets, they are undergoing a shift in mindset and gradually opening up to the possibilities
of outsourcing. Asheesh also talks about how Asian companies are closely watching Australian companies, which
themselves learned from the best practices and mistakes of early American and European outsourcers. He feels
that service providers are increasingly leaning towards specialized niche markets and virtualization – which
could signal the end of generalist BPO organizations as we know them.
