Our client wanted to achieve significant cost savings through optimizing their finance processes. Infosys used process improvement mechanisms such as benchmarking, quality enhancements, best practices sharing, and technology-led transformation to deliver 30 percent productivity gains.

With a vast spread of business across geographies, the client wanted to review their stock holding policy. Infosys BPM, keeping in mind their system challenges, rectified their data, made it suitable for analysis, and analyzed it using proven mathematical models to come up with a new algorithm. This achieved inventory reductions of up to 37.5 percent.


Online processing of income tax returns for the Government of India

To ease taxpayers' discomfort and achieve cost reduction, the Income Tax Department needed an advanced system to process income tax returns faster and more accurately. Infosys, in conjunction with the department, improved the existing processes significantly. Around 70 percent of throughput time reduction and savings to the tune of INR 180 million were achieved.

To simplify the process for end users, the client needed an advanced error-free system to process the submitted data correctly as per the government guidelines. Infosys designed new processes for data submission, processing and communication for the client and set up a processing and support center.

The client wanted to provide a first of its kind mobile phone backed over the counter merchant transaction facility to its users. The vast network of vendors and customers, statutory compliances and need to settle payable commission to the vendors on a daily basis, all contributed to the complexity of the project. Infosys BPM conducted the UAT of the system built for the process and took a structured approach of benchmarking, best practices sharing and quality initiatives to identify the deficiencies in the system and plug all possible revenue leakages.

The client wanted to create a robust reporting and triggering model for revenue and assurance management. Infosys BPM co-created the revenue assurance process from scratch for the client, identified revenue leakages worth more than 3Mn, and discovered and closed more than 500 fraud cases.

Challenged by an extremely complex merger situation where the buyer and seller could not share information directly due to a third party clause, the client needed to create an SSC which could take up the processes of their and the newly acquired company’s processes, combine them smoothly and deliver significant benefits. Infosys BPM participated in all the planning and execution phases of the merger, analyzed the existing set-up, and designed and implemented the to-be processes along with risk mitigation strategies on time.

Owing to the large size of business, the client was facing issues with its Account Payables operations and wanted to streamline its Finance setup. Infosys BPM, as part of the solution, studied their processes in detail, benchmarked them and recommended more than 40 implementable initiatives with a roadmap. The solutions led to 28% productivity benefits and estimated savings of SAR 600Mn.
