For us as procurement practitioners, it’s that time of the year when we sift through the year gone by, reflect on what worked (and didn’t) and arrive at our focus areas for the year ahead that will transform the function.
In this holiday edition of SPENDBYTES, we’ve tried to do just that! We’ve gift wrapped for you a very special feature: results of the Infosys Portland-CIPS survey with some deep insights from across about 170 CPOs in the ANZ region. We’ve cherry picked for you some deep dives: on Supplier Chain Excellence & Risks, Rising Influence of Technology in Supply Risk Management and our interesting client success-story: how our AI based information dashboard transformed static procurement performance reporting to a dynamic decision support and risk mitigation platform, for one of our clients, among others!
We’ll keep it as real in the new year with more interesting articles, insights & snippets.
Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!

In this edition, meet Ctibor Coufal, Senior Domain Lead, Sourcing & Procurement Practice, Infosys, Prague
I have essayed various roles in Infosys: I was Category Manager for a pharmaceutical client, Content Lead for an R2P transformation project for a leading Dutch bank, Content Enablement Manager for a global consumer goods manufacturer during their Source to Pay transformation journey. My current role in the S&P practice in Infosys is that of a Senior Domain Lead for ‘Travel Category’ and ‘Buy-Pay’ channel optimization.
In my previous role as Procurement Manager at a global travel agency, I was responsible for all supplier relations in Central and Eastern Europe: spearheading disruptive technology evolutions in the space, such as: ‘web-booking’.
I also worked as a Travel Procurement Manager in a leading aerospace products manufacturer, responsible for management of hotel and airline programs and acted as an EMEA SME during large global tenders for TMC (Travel Management Companies) or corporate card providers; while also managing other indirect categories such as Fleet, IT consumables, Marketing and Professional services.
I have a Masters’ degree in Arts & Economics of International Trade and European Economics. There are many demanding situations I have faced during the span of my career – working around these challenges and overcoming them has always been exciting and interesting for me and I look forward to many more in the years to come!
