I am a Business Development Director responsible for helping customers in their Digital Transformation of Sourcing and Procurement Operations using Infosys Source to Pay business apps powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics Process Automation(RPA), Machine Learning(ML), Natural Language Processing(NLP), Conversational Assistants(Chatbots) and other digital technologies.
17 years ago I obtained my Engineering Degree from National Institute of Technology, Bhopal and very soon entered the world of consulting. My association with Sourcing and Procurement started when I joined the Supplier Portal Development team for one the leading CNC machine manufacturers in the US around 12 years ago.
The experience of sitting on a mezzanine floor of a manufacturing plant along with the Procurement Operations team and understanding everyday challenges of business users and suppliers was so intriguing that I decided to help sourcing and procurement to simplify operations. I joined a startup and built Bolt-On products for procurement that helped buyers collaborate with their suppliers in real-time and exchange information.
Subsequently I joined Infosys in 2011 and led the development of the Infosys Source to Pay Platform – ProcureEdge. Since then I have been fortunate to lead four large Source to Pay Digital Transformation Engagements across Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America. I help procurement teams solve their business problems, simplify operations using the right target operating model, solution architecture and use unique business solutions like Guided Buying that solve some difficult source to pay problems around user adoption, visibility and compliance leading to enhanced savings.
Having played multiple roles, I wanted to understand newer procurement problems and help protect businesses from digital disruption by providing effective solutions. Hence I took a role in business development as it helps me to be closer to some of the best minds in procurement, understand their problems and the solution they wish for, explore new technologies like AI, Blockchain, AR/VR to solve these problems and help procurement stay relevant and become strategic to their core business.
