The President of Czech Republic, His Excellency Vaclav Klaus inaugurated the new centre of Infosys BPO, the outsourcing subsidiary
of Infosys Technologies Ltd and addressed clients and employees.
"The Brno centre is part of our strategy to build nearshore centers in various parts of the globe. This, along with
our large offshore centers in India and the centre in China, gives us a expanded global network, allowing proximity to
our clients and seamless flow of work on a 24X7 basis," said Mr. Mohandas Pai, Chairman, Infosys BPO and Member
of the Board, Infosys Technologies. "Brno also offers us access to a highly skilled, multilingual talent pool. We
are excited to be here and look forward to building on these capabilities and providing greater value to our clients."
"The Czech Republic is an attractive destination for Indian companies thanks to its strategic position as a gateway
to the European markets," said Roman Cermak, CEO of the Investment and Business Development Agency CzechInvest.
"In recent years Indian companies have actively invested not only in the Czech Republic but also in the whole of
Europe. Infosys is a leader in its field and we are pleased they have been able to grow rapidly in the Czech Republic."
"We opened our center in Brno two years back and our relocation today to a high-capacity facility is a reflection of
our rapid growth," said Amitabh Chaudhry, CEO and MD, Infosys BPO. "We have a demonstrated track record handling
multilingual processes for diverse industries in our Brno center. This nearshore center in Europe complements our offshore
Development Centers in India, allowing us to provide customers a complete, seamless outsourcing solution."
