Mario E. Pena shares his experience of Heading the Mexican operations, his love for the sport among other things in his interview. Please elaborate on the work done at your delivery center and its history? Our Mexican operations were established in 2007 with our partnership with a large consumer company to provide sales & fulfillment services; currently, our services include technical service desk, accounts payable, sourcing & procurement, payroll, translation and industry-specific processes in collaboration with ITO on hybrid projects. 24/7 support is available and the language offerings include English, Spanish, Portuguese and French. How has your experience been with Infosys BPM? Working with Infosys BPM has been a fulfilling experience; I've been able to take on different roles with increasing responsibilities and I've learned a lot and grown both personally and professionally; it's been a very rewarding journey. What is your favorite part of work? Working with a global organization gives me the opportunity to interact with people from different locations and learn about their culture. How would you describe the overall employee profile/ diversity in your delivery centre? We have a diverse population employed in our delivery centre; there are people from Brazil, Egypt, USA, Australia, India, Philippines, Uruguay, etc. Which country is most likely to win this year's football world cup and why? I believe Germany is the strongest contender for this year's World Cup, and they've been putting in a lot of effort and have consistently been reaching the quarter-finals for 30+ years. What's your favorite memory with respect to the football world cup? The first time I went to the stadium as a kid was a life-changing experience with my father and uncle; we arrived there early, and they had bought me a jersey and a flag to cheer for the team, people are very passionate about supporting their team, and that was no exception. Please share some thoughts on your country's footballing culture. Mexico is very invested in football, for some of the teams, the fans will camp outside the stadiums as the new season tickets are on sale, and the stadiums would be almost sold out at the pre-sale stage. Besides going to the stadiums, it's quite normal for people to gather at pubs and restaurants or have a barbeque at home to watch the games.
