Michael Sonsteng, Strategic Practice Head – Legal Process Outsourcing
Michael Sonsteng heads the Legal Process Outsourcing (LPO) division for Infosys BPM. This role gives Michael overall responsibility for quality and affordability in the matter of legal services that Infosys BPM provides to its various corporate and law firm clients. He believes that in future legal services will use a combination of people, process, and technology.
Prior to Infosys, Michael headed the delivery of legal services in India for another leading LPO, including in Mumbai and Delhi (Gurgaon and Noida) as well as advised on the startup of the UK LPO division. Michael was responsible for business development for Australia and was instrumental in assisting clients with initiating new process-driven legal delivery centers and new legal service lines, which provide measurable results at significant cost savings. Michael has set up numerous projects, and organized and set up all legal operations at the LPO’s Manila facility. He played a key role in expanding the Legal Solutions vertical, apart from serving as Co-General Counsel for a while.
Prior to the LPO world, Michael was a complex civil litigation attorney in multi-jurisdictional private practice. Michael was also a former Assistant County Attorney and adjunct law professor at two law schools. He has also lectured on LPO and other topics in India and the US.
Michael is a US licensed attorney, having completed his bachelor’s degree in political science from St. Olaf College, law degree from William Mitchell College of Law, and master of business administration from the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business.
Vivek Hatti, Principal,
Vivek Hatti is a seasoned and experienced legal professional with over 15 years of experience in legal services. Prior to joining Infosys, he worked for almost six years at another leading LPO where he created, managed and delivered cost-effective solutions in the areas of litigation management, including managed document review, and support for litigation matters, including drafting pleadings, motions, deposition summaries, fact analysis, legal research, as well as contracts management, M&A due diligence, and legal bill auditing and analysis. Before joining the LPO industry, he served at two prominent law firms – Spriggs & Hollingsworth and Arter & Hadden – where he litigated complex commercial, financial, and products liability cases before US state and federal courts.
Vivek is a graduate of The George Washington University Law School where he earned his J.D. He completed his master’s degree in national security policy from the George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs, and bachelor’s degree in government (high honors) and economics from The College of William and Mary. He also studied at the London School of Economics where he received a General Course Certificate.
Robert ("Bob") Henry, Practice Engagement Manager, Infosys LPO
Bob has over twelve years of experience leading contract management teams for Global 1000 enterprises. He currently leads the Infosys LPO Contract Management portfolio and has been consulted by a large number of clients on risk management, contract compliance, tools, and reducing contract cycle time.
Prior to Infosys, he worked with companies such as British Telecom (BT), Alcatel Lucent and Ciena. In this role, which reported into the General Counsel, he was directly involved with contract negotiations; establishment of best practice processes; dispute resolution; automation; contract administration; and integration with business units, finance, operations, and sales.
Bob holds a bachelor's degree in science from Illinois Wesleyan University and a master's degree in business administration from DePaul University.
Sunil Nair, Senior Practice Lead, Infosys LPO
Sunil has over ten years of experience in high-end outsourcing across consultancy and legal services. At Infosys LPO, he currently delivers innovative legal solutions to address business needs for law firms and corporate legal departments worldwide. He has a successful track record of leading in a multicultural environment, with proven skills in conceptualizing, planning, effective execution, account management and solution design. Apart from consulting, he is responsible for all pre-sales efforts.
Sunil is a gold medalist in law from Osmania University and is a qualified Company Secretary.
Sekhar Iyer – Principal Consultant, Infosys LPO
Sekhar manages the global operations for legal process outsourcing (LPO) services – eDiscovery and legal reviews (litigation and regulatory support), contract lifecycle management, and regulatory compliance. He is responsible for business development, identifying expansion in LPO opportunities by partnering with clients as a Consultant and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for legal services. He also serves as the key liaison with the clients, typically large, Fortune 1000 companies across industries such as banking, insurance, manufacturing, energy, media, services, oil and gas and supports clients on collective (litigation) civil class actions. He has spent more than 12 years in legal process outsourcing and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt at Infosys LPO.
His achievements at Infosys include successfully enhancing the quality of service offerings for Infosys clients. He has offered extensive support in building managed delivery teams (Onshore, Nearshore, and Offshore), finalizing legal, and technology solutions and played a key role in the process set up according to the Infosys framework. He has also worked to create sustainable and defensible processes, manage strategic client accounts, and foster client relationships at Infosys LPO.
Prior to joining Infosys, he headed the offshore delivery operations for another leading LPO where he catered to its US and UK clients.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Mumbai University and law degree from New Law College. He also holds additional diplomas in tax management, financial management, import-export, and central excise and customs.
Prateek Gupta, Practice Lead – Value Sales, Infosys LPO
Prateek leads the Litigation Support & eDiscovery Technology Operations at Infosys LPO. Prateek is responsible for assessing and suggesting implementation of Best in Breed solutions that quantify optimal results for clients. Prateek brings an extremely high level of technical experience and a broad knowledge of eDiscovery applications.
Prateek has extensive experience in managing large scale eDiscovery projects, including forensic collection, processing until production of data.
Prateek comes with over 13 years of rich experience in eDiscovery, litigation data management & content management. With an exhaustive acquaintance to technology, Prateek plays a crucial role in understanding the client pain areas and supports in designing, evaluating & resolving recurring technology challenges thereby providing great efficiency and cost savings.
Prior to joining Infosys, Prateek was managing eDiscovery operations for another leading LPO. Prateek has successfully managed multiple complex eDiscovery projects for premier clients including effective transitioning of eDiscovery operations. Prateek started his career as a business analyst in designing solutions to multiple stakeholders to cater to their content management needs.
Prateek has completed his Masters in Computer Application (MCA) and also his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA).
Gautam Dey, Practice Lead, Infosys LPO
Gautam has over 14 years of experience in legal process outsourcing and eDiscovery services. As the Practice Lead, his primary focus is outsourcing projects pertaining to litigation support, paralegal services, eDiscovery and contract management. His interpersonal skills has served him well in building a rich network, and he has been closely engaged with document management and law firms on critical high-value projects.
In his current role, Gautam oversees the Operations team at Infosys LPO and is accountable for end-to-end delivery. He also spearheads the business transformation initiative and is focused on integrating technology with the legal services Infosys offers to provide clients added value. He is responsible for delivering high quality results within stringent timelines and identifying areas of improvement that can transform and translate benefits for our clients.
Prior to joining Infosys, Gautam managed global transitions and operations for another leading LPO. In addition, he successfully managed multiple projects for premier clients, eDiscovery, and contract management operations.
Gautam holds a bachelor’s degree from Panjab University.
Debshikha Dutta - Practice Lead, Knowledge Services
Debshikha is a qualified Barrister-at-Law from the prestigious Inner Temple, London, UK. With around nine years of professional experience in international corporate and commercial law practice and profound academic background, she has a successful record of accomplishment with proven skills in advising clients on various aspects of law and legal-financial-commercial issues in cross border transactions.
She started her career working for a top law chamber in London and then came to India to join one of the leading law firms in Delhi. She worked as a consultant and later became founding partner for the firm’s Dhaka office. She then proceeded to start her own law firm as a partner (international practice) and successfully led a team of advocates and barristers. Instrumental in firm building, she has actively represented the firm at international events in the USA, UK, and SAARC countries.
Her category expertise spans corporate and commercial law, alternate dispute resolution, and international commercial practice. Her areas of expertise includes joint ventures, merger and acquisition, contract drafting and management, debt financing, foreign investment, corporate licenses, intellectual property law, insurance law, employment and labor laws, and others.
